Job Description
Join our team as a Trades Assistant/Firewatch at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, working on US Navy Vessels. You will perform firewatch duties, general labor tasks, and assist trades personnel. This role requires physical strength, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in confined spaces.
ResponsibilitiesPerform firewatch duties to ensure safety during operations.Assist other trades such as mechanics, welders, and pipefitters.Clean up job sites to maintain a tidy and safe work environment.Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively.Adhere to safety standards including OSHA 10 guidelines.Essential SkillsExperience with general labor tasks.Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.Ability to perform firewatch duties.Comfortable working in confined spaces.Additional Skills & QualificationsOSHA 10 certification.Experience in construction and shipyard environments.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This position is based at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, where you will work both outdoors and indoors on ships. Be prepared for varying weather conditions including rain, sun, and snow. The work schedule may include 40-60 hours per week with occasional requirements for 12-hour days across 7 days.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bremerton, Washington.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
