eBay LIVE is a dynamic, real-time commerce platform that connects sellers, creators, brands, and buyers through interactive live content. We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to develop, implement, and enforce prohibited, restricted, and product safety policies on eBay Live. This role ensures that live content, listings, creator activity, and seller behavior comply with platform policies while balancing business growth, creator engagement, and user experience. This is a high-impact role for a leader who can operate effectively in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
The role will represent compliance priorities and business needs for eBay Live, partnering closely with Product, Legal, Trust, GCX, and Operations to ensure live commerce experiences meet regulatory and marketplace obligations while maintaining strong cross-functional alignment and clear stakeholder communication.
The role reports into the Director, Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy. The position will be based in our Salt Lake City, Utah location. Regular domestic and occasional international business travel is required.
Responsibilities include:
Policy compliance
Own prohibited item and product safety policy compliance strategy for eBay LIVEPartner with operational teams to ensure timely takedowns and enforcement actions in accordance with legal and platform requirementsDevelop, update, and operationalize prohibited item policies globally tailored to live commerceCross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with global Regulatory and Legal organizations on evolving trends and issuesWork with Product and Engineering to design scalable enforcement tools and workflowsCollaborate with Trust and eBay LIVE operations teams to improve detection, response times, and accuracyCreator and Seller Support
Educate sellers about our policies to keep creators and eBay safeContribute to training materials, FAQs, and guidance for eBay LIVE participantsBalance enforcement with creator experience to minimize frictionRisk Management & Insights
Identify emerging risks in live commerce, social selling, and influencer ecosystemsAnalyze trends, metrics, and enforcement outcomes to inform strategy and improvementsPrepare reporting for leadership on risk, enforcement effectiveness, and compliance healthClearly define and communicate business and policy requirements, including data transparency and reporting needs to support effective oversight and risk management.Support regulatory and policy risk assessments for eBay Live by identifying gaps, assessing emerging risks, and recommending practical mitigation strategies.Job Requirements
7+ years of experience in intellectual property compliance, trust & safety, or platform governanceOutstanding communication skills – oral and written, including ability to deliver compelling presentations to internal and external groupsSeven or more years of experience, preferably in ecommerce, in the areas of policy, program management and/or strategy developmentFamiliarity with AI tools and an AI-first mindset, with a demonstrated ability to leverage technology to improve insight, execution, and decision-making.Analytic and strategy development skills including expert Excel (pivot tables, advance functions, statistics) and PowerPoint skills; Superior skills in SQL coding and database query (e.g., SQL) and understanding of data warehouse architecture are requiredUnderstanding of the live commerce landscape and functional understanding of the eBay marketplaceA willingness to challenge existing approaches and ability to drive positive culture changesPracticed at solutions design with an ability to think holistically about the impact that any changes will have on both eBay’s buyers and sellersAbility to evangelize ideas, influence key partners and collaborate effectively, with experience leading cross-functional teamsAbility to build credibility with partnersOutstanding personal initiative, a “can-do” spiritHighest degree of personal integrityEducation:
BS/BA degree in related field required; Masters or MBA degree preferredDegrees in business or analytics preferredWork experience in consulting, strategy development, or analytics preferredThe base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$103,600 - $177,800Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
