Job Overview
The Proposal Writer develops clear, compelling, and compliant proposal content tailored to Chugach’s Federal customers. This candidate employs strategic storytelling without losing sight of content compliance, translating complex information into clear and effective prose for use in responses to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and Sources Sought notices. This position will be principally responsible for writing proposals for Base Operations Support (BOS) contracts.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:Work with Capture Managers, Business Development leaders, Solution Architects, and Subject Matter Experts to document, write, and articulate win themes/solutions and corporate experience against proposal requirement with the end goal of presenting a compelling rationale for Chugach Government Solutions.Develops assigned proposal sections, to include:Initiating and performing research on subject matter to aid strategy and technical development and presenting findings to Proposal Manager.Performing subject matter interviews in a variety of ways by assessing abilities of subject matter experts and adapting interview methods. This could include e-mail, phone, and in-person interviews.Writing and editing original text, tailoring boilerplate, and rewriting third-party contributions to fulfill RFP requirements, with attention to crafting narrative that is compliant with requirements and compelling to the reader.Performing detailed compliance analysis between RFP requirements and proposal narratives written by other authors and provide feedback to ensure a compliant final product.Copy editing for grammar, spelling, factual accuracy, clarity, and Chugach standards;Formatting documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher, and Adobe InDesign and Acrobat and provide Proposal Manager with print-ready final documents.Meet proposal deadlines by prioritizing tasks and coordinating with contributorsAssists the Proposal Manager in analyzing suggested color review changes and leading all color review team changes in assigned proposal sections.Researches and drafts proposal boilerplate independent of assigned proposals.Performs related work as assigned including supporting operational sites on a temporary basis.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:Bachelor’s degree OR Four (4) years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree.Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a position requiring writing and editing.At least two (2) years’ experience writing proposals for state or Federal government customers.Demonstrated prior experience writing proposals relevant to Chugach’s lines of business: base operations support services, construction, and/or IT products/services. Minimum two writing samples required.Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen. Preferred:Familiarity with Shipley-style proposal development process and review cycle.Demonstrated experience writing for large volume Government submissions.Experience developing content for significant wins (8-9 figure values).
Working Conditions:
This position is primarily performed in an office setting with standard lighting, heating, and ventilation.Physical Requirements:
