Proposal Specialist
Job Description For Posting

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Strategic Bid Center team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role will be based in any metropolitan market. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Proposal Specialist will write persuasive proposal/presentation content and executive summaries that are geared toward readers' needs and level of knowledge and that follows company best practice approach. The Specialist will also review requests for proposals to better understand proposal submission requirements, facilitate opportunity strategy formulation, working closely with Client Managers/consulting team to help identify client/prospect business-drivers, and creates the optimal proposal communication strategy, corresponding theme and graphic approach.

We will count on you to:

Take a strategic, client-centered approach to every opportunityProject manage proposals/presentations aligned with client requirements and company brandingDevelop/drive internal work plans based on external deadlines — and hold pursuit teams accountableResearch/draft responses to proposal questions in collaboration with content managers and subject matter experts, as neededOwn master documents and incorporate multiple rounds of edits through completionPartner with a graphic designer to develop engaging deliverablesEnsure internal procedures and best practices are followed for each project

What you need to have: 

Strong writing, editing and project management skillsEducation: BA/BS (preferably in business, journalism, marketing, English, communication, business writing)Experience: 2+ years of proposal writing experience Technology: Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and TeamsAbility to manage competing deadlines and adapt to shifting prioritiesClose attention to detail, without losing sight of the bigger pictureComfort with ambiguity and frequent changeHigh sense of personal accountability and self-motivationAbility to work collaboratively and be driven by group feedback

APMP CF or higher CertificationExperience working in the investments industryPrior project management experience with RFI/RFP/DDQs, regardless of industryA thirst for knowledge and passion for trying new thingsFamiliarity with SharePoint, QorusDocs or online bid procurement tools (such as Ariba)
