Property Tax Implementation Specialist
What You'll Do Avalara is hiring a Senior Implementation Specialist to support complex customer onboarding for our Property Tax solutions. This role is ideal for an experienced individual contributor who excels at the intersection of customer delivery and data accuracy. You will report to the General Manager for Property Tax. You can work remote. You'll own end-to-end implementations for high-value customers—analyzing property tax data, configuring solutions, supporting integrations, and guiding customers through go-live and stabilization. Your expertise will directly influence customer outcomes and inform product improvements through close collaboration with Product and Engineering teams. What Your Responsibilities Will Be You will lead customer onboarding and implementation for Avalara's property tax solutions You will be the primary implementation contact for complex or high-value customers Transform customer property tax data for system configuration Translate complex datasets into structured, usable formats that ensure accuracy Support integrations and data workflows using Avalara tools and APIs Identify implementation risks and data issues early and recommend practical solutions Guide customers through testing, go-live, and early lifecycle stabilization Gather and document customer feedback to surface product gaps and improvement opportunities Partner with Product and Engineering to communicate customer needs and validate enhancements Create clear, customer-facing implementation documentation Manage multiple implementations simultaneously What You'll Need to be Successful 2–4 years of hands-on property tax experience (assessments, jurisdictions, filings, or related work) Experience implementing SaaS or tax technology solutions for external customers Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables required) and data analysis capability Comfort working with APIs, integrations, or technical data workflows Translate customer needs into system configurations or documented requirements #LI-Remote Avalara is an AI-first Company AI is embedded in our workflows, decision-making, and products.
