Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Property Accountant to join our team and ensure the accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This role is integral to maintaining the financial integrity of assigned properties through meticulous journal entries, reconciliations, and audits.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review all month-end journal entries to ensure financial statements reflect actual and complete results for all assigned properties.Coordinate the distribution of financial information among internal and external parties, including lending institutions.Ensure compliance with SOX-directed internal controls through appropriate reviews.Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and documentation for month-end financial reviews.Assist with audit requests.Prepare straight-line rent calculations, acquisition journal entries for new properties, and lender escrow reimbursements.Update budget information as requested.Continuously explore new ways to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of roles and responsibilities.Perform ad hoc analysis and assist with additional audit requests.Essential Skills
2+ years of general ledger accrual accounting experience.Proficiency in Excel, including the ability to use and create pivot tables and VLOOKUP formulas.Experience with real estate accounting.Familiarity with property management software such as Yardi or MRI.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting.Experience with commercial property accounting is highly preferred.Knowledge of working with leases.Work Environment
This is a fully on-site position with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Join a local public property management company where you will have the opportunity to transition to a permanent role.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $31.25/hr.
