Whole Foods Market is looking for an experienced, talented, and highly motivated individual to join our Promotion Analytics team. This role is responsible for delivering data-driven, actionable insights to support merchandizing initiatives and will partner with program managers to ensure reporting and analytics are aligned with campaign objectives. This role analyzes a variety of market, competitor, behavioral, and transactional data to enhance the understanding of performance for various marketing programs and support planning efforts. We are seeking someone who is comfortable assembling and interrogating datasets, distilling data, and communicating data-driven insights with partner teams. The ideal candidate will have a background in analyzing and deriving insights from datasets utilizing SQL and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau). A successful candidate should have the technical proficiency to leverage software tools and reports and business proficiency to summarize their findings
Responsibilities:
• Utilize advanced analytical methods to identify patterns, relationships, and trends across multiple data sources.
• Synthesize information to construct a narrative which can be understood by a broad audience and proven empirically through data and analysis.
• Oversee analysis of segmentation models to provide insights into customer engagement, profitability, and shopping behavior.
• Able to explain complex modeling approaches in simple terms; develop compelling narratives that connect modeling results with stakeholder problems. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions in both one-on-one situations and group meetings.
• Prepare quarterly program reviews to inform planning, forecasting, optimization efforts
• Lead efforts, with cross-functional stakeholders, translating business questions into analyses that inform business decisions.
• Collaborates with functional and cross-functional Team Members and provides ad-hoc assessments and reports as requested.
Skills:
• Proficient in a wide range of analytical, quantitative, and statistical techniques and tools to derive insights from large, complex data environments
• Initiative-taking to develop expertise on industry trends and the use of data and analytics
• Strong attention to detail, and excellent organization and time management skills
• Ability to present ideas, conclusions, and recommendations with clarity. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Solid public speaking skills; able to present ideas to diverse audiences.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 3+ years of data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence or business analytics experience
- 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Grocery or retail industry experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
