Are you looking for a highly rewarding opportunity that provides extensive career growth opportunity? Gilbane is seeking a Project Superintendent. This position will be on the job site every day and will fill a key role on the project team.

 

Responsibilities Managing subcontractors and coordinating day-to-day production and schedule adherenceAttend project meetings to include Red Zone meetings, partnering meetings, and quality control meetingsBe on site at all times during performance of the contract workDirects the day-to-day coordination of Gilbane’s subcontractors to ensure high-quality work that meets the approved project scheduleDevelops, documents, and communicates the work plan regarding changes made in the fieldMaintains a thorough understanding of contract documents in order to proactively anticipate potential problemsIdentifies change conditions on siteObtains or verifies that subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction purposesActs as primary site representative in the fieldEstablishes credibility among owners, trade contractors, and other project partners by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environmentLeads on site contractor meetings on a regular basisMaintains daily reports and documentationParticipates in Managing and updating the project schedule, creating and implementing contingency plans when necessaryCommunicates schedule status, updates and changes to project team and trade contractorsPlans, coordinates, and manages jobsite logisticsOversees project quality plan, completes inspections, and implements necessary changesCommunicates with Site Services/Next 150 to order materials and schedule crewCoaches and mentors less Field Engineers on project needs, construction knowledge, and business acumenUnderstands subcontractor scopes of work; identifies any scope gaps; ensures subcontractors are completing their scopesLeads stretch and flex, daily huddle, and pre-task plan reviewsSupports a positive and inclusive work environment Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

Minimum of 10 years of experience in constructionMinimum of 5 years of experience on $25 million or larger construction projects in a superintendent roleOSHA 30-hour certifiedCQMC certified; or ability to get certifiedExperience and familiarity with the requirements of EM 385-1-1, hazard identification, and safety compliance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong technical and communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needsAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to collaborate on a daily basis with the project teamProficient in Microsoft OfficeConstruction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of constructionStrong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety planAbility to create an environment where “safety first” is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury free attitude
