Customer Insights Manager - Alexa Smart Home Job Description We are seeking a Customer Insights Manager to focus on identifying opportunities to delight Smart Home customers and drive growth across the Alexa Smart Home organization. This role involves designing and conducting research to deeply understand customer needs, motivations, barriers, and opportunities to enhance their lives through Smart Home technology. As a member of the Alexa Smart Home Research Team, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the business, delivering multiple research projects across various business and stakeholder groups. Responsibilities + Develop and implement a comprehensive research learning plan aligned with business goals, identifying key research objectives and methodologies. + Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and execute market research projects from conception to completion. + Manage external research vendors and agencies, ensuring high-quality deliverables within established timelines and budgets. + Utilize a variety of research methods, such as surveys, interviews, and focus groups, to collect relevant data, analyze it to extract meaningful insights. + Prepare clear and concise reports summarizing key findings and translating complex data into actionable recommendations. + Communicate research results effectively to stakeholders at various levels within the organization. + Propose, build, and continuously improve processes for collection and socialization of customer insights. Essential Skills + Minimum of 5-10 years of professional market research or UX research experience with a successful project management track record. + Familiarity with quantitative research, particularly survey design and data analytics. + Self-starter with the ability to thrive in fast-changing and ambiguous environments. + Strong collaborative skills in a fast-paced environment. + Ability to effectively communicate complex subjects in written form. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience. + Qualitative research experience, including study design and moderation. + Experience with research platforms such as Qualtrics and Usertesting.com. + Proficiency in SQL. + Experience working with research vendors. + Use of Generative AI tools in research processes. Work Environment This position can be based in Seattle, Sunnyvale, or Denver with a hybrid work arrangement, requiring attendance at the office at least twice a week. If converted to a full-time role, the expectation is to return to the office five times a week. Remote work is possible, but relocation may be necessary for conversion opportunities. Work hours are preferably aligned with Pacific Standard Time but may require flexibility for meetings in other time zones. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
