Gilbane is seeking a Project Manager II to serve as the on-site Gilbane manager, responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a medium-sized construction project. This position will be on the job site every day and will fill a key role on the project team.

Responsibilities

Pre-construction

Schedule, organize and coordinate meetings – including meeting minutesBudget – review and evaluate the client overall project budget (estimating skills)Track Budget if requestedTrack document filings – Designers and contractorsConstructability reviewsScope developmentBid document developmentBid review and recommendations as to most capable and qualified proposalPermit tracking

Construction

Assist the client in development of a master Progress ScheduleReview and coordinate Vendor’s progress schedule2 week look ahead schedule development and monitoringEvaluate Vendor’s personnel and equipment commitmentsAssist client in minimizing delays and change ordersEvaluate means and methods of construction proposed and utilized by the vendorsCoordinate temporary facilities and utilitiesSubmittal reviewConstruction monitoring for safety, quality and schedule adherenceCoordinate inspections – DOB, Special Inspectors, Design ConsultantsMaterial inspections – conformance to contract documentsRFI AdministrationDevelop Change Order Report – validity of submission, cost estimate Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management5-10 years of experienceOr equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong technical and communication skills are criticalAbility to work in a team environmentKnowledge of industry standard software, Microsoft Office (preferred)

 

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

 

For New York, NY this ranges from $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
