Join us. **Job Description** AECOM is seeking a Project Manager (PM) to provide leadership, direction, and oversight for the planning, design, and construction activities of a large, complex federal program. This role is responsible for managing project execution, confirming contract compliance, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high‑quality results that meet program objectives, stakeholder expectations, and regulatory requirements. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of coordination between AECOM’s Program Management (PgM), local and State stakeholders, and contractors, responsible for clear, proactive communication, and proactive issue identification and resolution. This position requires a seasoned professional capable of managing competing priorities, navigating complex technical and contractual requirements, and driving project performance from initiation through closeout. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: + Lead and manage all aspects of project oversight, including planning, design coordination, construction oversight, and contract administration. + Serve as the primary interface between site design and construction activities and PgM AECOM leadership to confirm compliant alignment with project goals, requirements, and performance expectations. + Collaborate with program control functions, including schedule management, cost tracking, risk identification, contractor’s monthly draws, and progress reporting. + Direct the preparation, review, and approval of project documentation, schedule updates, technical submittals, RFIs, change requests, and contract modifications. + Ensure timely and accurate management of project correspondence, documentation, and reporting in accordance with program requirements. + Coordinate design review processes with AECOM discipline leads, engage with stakeholder coordination meetings, and technical workshops to confirm design compliance, constructability, and operational requirements are met. + Monitor contractor performance, evaluate progress, validate quantities, and ensure adherence to contract specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards. + Oversee the RFI, submittal, design bulletin, and plan revision processes, enabling timely resolution or escalation of issues and accurate documentation. + Manage change order evaluations, cost proposals, and negotiation processes to ensure fair and accurate contract adjustments. + Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and constraints through proactive planning and stakeholder engagement. + Confirm Contractor’s compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as project‑specific guidelines and standards. + Lead project closeout activities, including turnover documentation, O&M manuals, as‑built records, warranty coordination, and final acceptance. + Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to Assistant PMs, project coordinators, and technical support staff. + Prepare and deliver project briefings, reports, and presentations for internal management and external stakeholders. + Foster a collaborative, solution-oriented environment that supports program goals and promotes effective communication across all project participants. **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications:** + BA/BS in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, or related field plus 8 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including collaborative team leadership experience. + Experience managing large, complex federal design / construction for infrastructure projects. + US citizenship is required due to the nature of the work. **Preferred Requirements** + 10+ years of experience in project management on federal, design‑build, or multi‑disciplinary construction programs. + Experience with linear infrastructure projects such as highway, railway, pipeline and transmission corridor projects. + Strong understanding of contract administration, design management, construction oversight, and project controls. + Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage contractors, and coordinate with diverse stakeholder groups. + Experience with project information management systems and document control platforms. + Strong communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills. + Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality results under tight deadlines. **Additional Information** This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of an enhanced background investigation, which may include, but is not limited to, verification of employment and education, a criminal history review, drug screening, and a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check, as applicable. This position reports to AECOM Program Manager and will have a number of direct report responsibilities. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
