Project Manager / Estimator – Heavy Civil ConstructionAbout the Opportunity

A leading heavy civil construction team is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to oversee infrastructure projects from pre‑construction through closeout while preparing accurate, competitive estimates for upcoming work. This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable managing field operations and performing detailed analytical estimating.

Role Summary

The Project Manager/Estimator will support all phases of heavy civil projects—roadways, bridges, utilities, site development, and earthwork. This blended role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership, and the ability to manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships.

What You’ll DoProject Management ResponsibilitiesLead heavy civil construction projects from planning to completion.Manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and daily field operations.Maintain strong communication with clients, inspectors, and project partners.Oversee project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and progress reporting.Ensure all work meets safety standards, quality expectations, and contract requirements.Estimating ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate cost estimates and competitive bid proposals.Complete quantity takeoffs, analyze drawings, and review project specifications.Evaluate subcontractor/vendor pricing and maintain cost history databases.Assist in value engineering and bid strategy.Collaborate with field teams to ensure estimates align with real-world site conditions.What You BringMinimum 5 years’ experience in heavy civil construction, including 3+ years in project management and/or estimating.Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).Proficiency with estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, B2W, or similar; and project management tools like Procore, Primavera P6, or MS Project.Strong understanding of heavy civil construction operations: earthwork, utilities, paving, concrete, and site development.Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interaction.Certifications such as PMP or CCM are a plus.Valid driver’s license required.Why This Role Stands OutOpportunity to work on significant infrastructure projects that impact the community.A hybrid role that allows you to grow both field leadership and estimating expertise.Competitive compensation and strong growth potential.Collaborative environment focused on safety, quality, and professional development.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Loudonville, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $58.00/hr.
