Project Manager

Eaton’s Electrical sector is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Calgary, AB facility and offers benefits from day one. 

 

What you’ll do:

The Project Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the successful execution of major electrical assembly projects following contract close, ensuring customer expectations for product delivery, documentation, quality, and timelines are consistently exceeded. With a strong focus on value creation, the Project Manager actively improves financial outcomes for both Eaton Electrical and its customers while positioning project execution as a strategic competitive advantage. This role serves as a trusted partner to customers and internal stakeholders, championing disciplined processes, proactive communication, and operational excellence. In addition, the Project Manager mentors and leads a team of Project Coordinators—both technical and transactional—fostering capability development, accountability, and continuous improvement across the project order lifecycle.


In this function you will: 

Demonstrate full competency in managing complex, technical, large-scale projects while operating with minimal direct supervision.Exercise autonomy to meet customer commitments and provide project management guidance to the assigned sales representative.Build a proven track record of successfully managing large projects by establishing clear post-contract expectations and documenting key project milestones.Define customer requirements, assess factory capabilities, align customer and factory expectations, and communicate accurate order acknowledgements.Manage all aspects of project relationships with contractors, industrial customers, distributors, consulting engineers, and OEMs to maintain strong, long-term partnerships.Lead financial management activities, including reviewing terms and conditions with sales, validating purchase orders, and verifying pricing and bill of materials reconciliation.Assume full technical ownership of projects by reviewing complete plans and specifications in collaboration with sales.Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications: 
•    Degree or diploma equivalent in an engineering discipline, preferably electrical, mechanical or mechatronics.
•    Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a related field.
•    Successful technical background in industrial and construction products.
•    Strong application knowledge of Engineered Products for Power Distribution.
•    AutoCAD literate in the application of Power Engineered Products.
•    Successful experience as a Project Coordinator or a Sales Representative.
•    No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.
•    Must be able to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

 

Preferred qualifications: 
•    University degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
•    5 years minimum experience in working with electrical products and assemblies.
•    Technical Professional Designation (P.Eng., CET, C.Tech).
•    Proficiency in French language is an asset.

What makes you successful in this role?

You are successful in this role because of your ability to collaborate effectively with Sales Engineers, Product Engineers, and manufacturing plants to keep projects moving forward. You proactively manage order entry delays by addressing commercial issues, monitoring timely order receipt, and resolving outstanding financial matters. You bring strong organizational and documentation skills to reviewing drawings, engineering tools, warranties versus commercial concessions, and availability constraints, while maintaining positive customer relationships on behalf of Eaton. Your understanding of current safety regulations and job site safety practices ensures compliance and risk mitigation during site visits. Additionally, your experience navigating factory capacities, production processes, information flow, and equipment disruptions enables you to anticipate challenges and coordinate timely solutions across teams.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $93,000 - $116,000 a year. You are also eligible to a sales incentive program.
