The Opportunity:
This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are delivered safely and effectively. The Project Governance and Assurance Manager will provide independent oversight, clear decision-making frameworks, and assurance across the full project lifecycle, driving strong governance and continuous improvement. Working closely with Operational Units, you will embed fit-for-purpose governance, ensure compliance, and empower teams with practical processes and tools. The role also provides leadership through project reviews, risk and compliance oversight (including SOX), and targeted support to projects requiring additional assurance.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity and can be based in Adelaide.
The successful candidate must be eligible to hold a AGSVA security clearance.
Responsibilities:
Maintain the project governance and assurance frameworkManage the implementation of project governance and assurance improvements across the project lifecycle in accordance with the integrated project delivery frameworkAttend all project status reviews, focusing on feedback and continuous improvements for all operational units and projectsOverall ownership of SOX compliance for projectsLeadership of support resources, where requiredLead and organise ‘watch list’ project reviewsProvide project management leadership, guidance and support to projects within the operational unitsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure complianceFacilitate communication and coordination among team members to enhance overall project efficiencyEnsure projects comply with industry standards, company policies and regulatory requirementsReview and update documentation to ensure accuracy and completenessApply industry knowledge to contribute valuable insights to projectsAs the ideal candidate you will bring:
Qualifications in engineering or business and/or project management.Certification in project management (AIPM, PMI, or equivalent)Minimum of 10 years of related project management experience.Strong project management skills, including planning, organisation, and coordination.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team engagement.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.Deep understanding of the respective industry, including current trends and best practices.Proficient in project management tools and software.All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a NV1 Clearance or above should apply.
