Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Description

A Project Engineer is needed to support major projects onsite in Boise, Idaho. The role involves providing project management support through effective communication, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, document control, and forecasting of costs and profitability. The position supports and collaborates with company superintendents, foremen, engineers, detailers, and management to deliver quality and profitable projects, with a focus on plumbing-related work.

This an entry level role for someone with their bachelor's in construction management or mechanical engineering with an interest in working on construction projects.

Responsibilities

Track, forecast, and report labor hours and material costs.Assist in the procurement process of major equipment and subcontracts.Expedite and track deliveries of major equipment and materials.Maintain working knowledge of general conditions, work scope, and specifications of project contract/subcontract.Maintain and control documents in compliance with Standards and contractual requirements.Collaborate with field labor supervision to plan, organize, and schedule project work, including preparation of subcontract/contract integrated project schedule.Review contract drawings, detail drawings, and specifications.Prepare fabrication shop work packages including detail drawing review, material take off and buyout, and man-hour fabrication budget.Ensure full compliance with the Safety Program at the jobsite.Regular attendance and promptness are required.

Essential Skills

Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, One Drive, MS Teams, SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Viewpoint Vista, Revit, Stratus (on-the-job training will be provided for many of these programs).Understanding of construction sequencing, especially as it relates to mechanical and plumbing scopes of work.Project engineering, mechanical construction, construction management, change order, RFI, project management, estimation, plumbing, process piping.Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering desired; previous construction field experience accepted in lieu of degree.Understanding of RFIs and ability to read and understand project plans related to mechanical scope.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of Bluebeam and Procore is highly preferred.Understanding of mechanical engineering, industrial construction, and scheduling.

This role involves working onsite at a chip manufacturing plant in Boise. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/hr.
