Project Engineer
Job Title: EngineerJob Description

This position involves technical leadership and execution of new product development programs in accordance with customer technical requirements and procurement specifications. You will work closely with the internal product development team to coordinate all phases of new product development.

ResponsibilitiesProvide technical leadership and execution of new product development programs.Coordinate technical proposals, design of customer-deliverable hardware, and technical support of development part fabrication.Lead qualification testing and support certification and Entry-into-Service (EIS), as well as sustaining engineering efforts.Lead small, cross-functional teams, typically co-located.Maintain and develop knowledge of state-of-the-art engineering disciplines, processes, and tools.Delegate, coordinate, assign, and execute tasks alongside the internal product development team.Ensure designs are compliant with customer technical requirements, procurement specifications, and industry standards and regulations.Provide technical input, review, and approval for engineering drawings, documentation, and analytical outputs.Prepare project status presentations and communications for both internal leadership and external customers.Establish and defend company- and/or program-advantageous technical positions.Identify and execute improvement activities to reduce cost and cycle time and improve product quality.Interface with vendors and suppliers to ensure adequate technical communication and product compliance.Lead and/or contribute to internal and external audits, such as AS9100 audits and customer quality audits.Establish oneself as a recognized technical subject matter expert within the organization.Communicate proactively within the company to facilitate transparency and fulfill project goals.Achieve and maintain an understanding of company objectives and commercial strategy.Decompose and intuit customer/project needs and requirements even when they are nebulous or incomplete.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience. M.S. preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in metallic or composite ducting and motion compensator design per ARP 699 guidelines or equivalent experience in aerospace product areas such as ECS, valves, heat exchangers, turbo machinery, FTIS, pneumatic systems, or structural design.Experience with aircraft certification to EASA, Transport Canada, CAAC, and/or FAA 14 CFR FAR 25 requirements.Experience from program award to milestones such as PDR, CDR, PRR, SOF, and EIS.Project management skills and strong interpersonal skills.Experience delegating work and supervising non-direct reports.Experience writing certification documentation, such as ATP, QTP, QTR.Experience with sheet metal and/or composite manufacturing/forming processes.Experience with the MRB process with engineering disposition authority.Test experience per RTCA-DO/160 or MIL-STD-810 (vibration and environmental tests).Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Ability to read/support the creation of 3D models and 2D drawings with dimensioning and tolerance per ANSI/ASME Y14.5 standards.Thorough understanding of industry specifications.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience participating in or leading internal and external audits.Experience with technical reports and specifications.Work Environment

This position requires working onsite. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM, with flexible start times between 6 AM and 8:30 AM. Core hours, when availability is required, are from 9 AM to 3 PM. The team is divided into two groups: Project Engineers and Design Engineers. Project Engineers focus on technical interaction with clients, strategy formulation, and systems design, while Design Engineers handle other design-related tasks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
