Project Engineer
Project Engineer Actalent is seeking a Project Engineer to support field operations, project coordination, and documentation for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work effectively with superintendents, subcontractors, and project stakeholders. Responsibilities + Lead and document toolbox and safety meetings; support jobsite safety compliance and required recordkeeping. + Create, track, and close punch lists in coordination with superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors. + Assist with QA/QC procedures in accordance with company standards and project requirements. + Prepare, submit, and track RFIs and submittals; maintain all logs and follow up to keep the project on schedule. + Set up and maintain labor control, including cost codes, productivity tracking, and labor reporting. + Perform quantitative takeoffs to support accurate material procurement and prevent shortages or overages. + Assist with schedule implementation, short‑interval planning, and preparation of look‑ahead schedules with the field team. + Coordinate warranties, O&M manuals, and project closeout documentation. + Support material procurement including issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and assisting with invoicing and AP reconciliation. Required Skills & Experience + Experience working with RFIs, submittals, punch lists, and closeout documentation. + Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. + Proficiency with takeoff tools such as Bluebeam or On‑Screen Takeoff. + Strong Microsoft Excel skills. + Familiarity with construction management platforms such as Procore, Viewpoint/Vista, or comparable systems. + Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment. + Knowledge of jobsite safety practices; OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred. + Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field experience preferred.
