We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to design application drawings for products using CAD (2D and 3D) systems. You will generate production drawings for both in-house and subcontracted shops, manage the mechanical portion of projects from start to finish, and create, control, and maintain order release packages and design files. This role involves up to 50% travel to perform presentations, audits, measure ups, and startup support at mill sites. You will foster customer relations, execute technical calculations, prepare technical documentation, and collaborate internationally with engineering teams in Canada and Austria.
ResponsibilitiesDesign application drawings for products using CAD systems.Generate production drawings for in-house and subcontracted shops.Manage mechanical portion of projects from start to finish.Create, control, and maintain order release packages and design files.Travel up to 50% of the time for presentations, audits, and startup support.Foster customer relations through on-site measure ups and remote communication.Execute technical calculations for safety and integrity of custom components.Prepare technical documentation and perform product inspections.Create communication documentation to convey design aspects to clients.Collaborate with international engineering teams in Canada and Austria.Participate in development projects and prototype design.Perform other duties as identified by company leadership.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5 years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering.Advanced skills in Autocad, CAD, 2D, 3D, and Mechanical Design.Experience in Manufacturing Engineering and Project Management.Proficiency in drafting, project coordination, and process improvement.Ability to perform technically challenging tasks independently.Additional Skills & QualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering.Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets.Work EnvironmentThis role requires up to 50% travel, with eligibility or possession of a passport. Travel may begin within the first month, typically lasting a couple of days per site, during the working week. There may be opportunities for training in Austria, focusing on product lines from three facilities there and one Canadian facility. This position is 100% onsite, offering a stable work environment with no layoffs, unique industry products, and opportunities for growth. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
10 paid holidays in the calendar year. Vacation is 10 days (prorated in the first year), 15 days after 5 years, 20 days after 15 years. Up to 80 hrs can be rolled over into next year.Sick days, 6 per calendar year401k, matching contributions 100% up to 4%
