Job Title: Project EngineerJob Description

The Project Engineer will support a mid-sized design-build firm specializing in industrial facilities such as warehouses, assembly buildings, and automation-focused structures. This role is essential in assisting with project execution from pre-construction planning through closeout. The Project Engineer will work on 2–3 projects simultaneously, each ranging from 10–14 months in duration.

ResponsibilitiesCoordinate submittals and track materials.Update project schedules and distribute drawing sets.Maintain project documentation and ensure organized and timely project communication.Support subcontractor oversight and participate in weekly subcontractor meetings.Ensure effective project execution from planning to closeout.Essential Skills2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager for a General Contractor.Completion of 1–2 industrial construction projects.Experience with warehouse, assembly, or automation facility project types.Strong material tracking experience.Proficiency in subcontractor coordination and participation in weekly meetings.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project).Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.Design-build project experience.Strong problem-solving ability and practical decision-making skills.Ability to maintain effective relationships with subcontractors, internal teams, and external partners.High attention to detail with strong documentation standards.Ability to manage planning documents, entitlement packages, and drawing revisions.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Work Environment

This role is 95% in-office and 5% onsite for weekly subcontractor meetings, which last 3-4 hours. The standard working hours are 8am–5pm, with some flexibility. The work environment is collaborative, involving project managers, superintendents, and design partners. The position is salaried, with the potential to receive a $700 monthly car allowance depending on location and candidate qualifications.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00/hr.
