ROLE: Design & Project Manager
LOCATION: Bury St Edmunds

We're looking for a Design & Project Manager to help build our design capability, developing a useable design library that drives innovative standardisation and financial efficiencies. You will also lead projects from inception through to handover, managing technically challenging works while developing strong relationships with our clients.
Role Responsibilities Plan projects using Microsoft Project or similar tools. Review and interpret Consultants' Proposals, qualification lists and design information to ensure designs meet client requirements. Undertake value engineering at early design stages where appropriate. Build, maintain and manage a central design library to ensure previous designs and learnings are fully utilised to maximise efficiency. Provide guidance and support to contracts teams to ensure compliance with BIM requirements and contractual design obligations. Undertake and regularly update BIM maturity assessments of suppliers throughout each project. Select suitable tender lists for construction activities and respond to queries during the tender process. Oversee asset data collection and ensure accurate communication through both Mitie's and customers' CAFM systems. Lead the development of project designs through agreed procurement routes and ensure all deliverables required under the relevant RIBA stages are met. Assemble an effective Project Management team for each scheme. Operate within an MOD environment and comply with all security protocols (SC clearance required, with a minimum of 5 years' checkable UK work history). Required QualificationsApplicants must meet the requirements below for this role:
Experienced Project Manager within design and construction, ideally within a secure, MOD or military environment. Strong understanding of the full RIBA design process. Extensive knowledge of Health & Safety legislation. Holder of a valid CSCS card and SMSTS (or equivalent). Strong technical construction knowledge. Knowledge of current Building Regulations and experience reviewing M&E designs. Experience working on projects achieving BREEAM/DREAM ratings. Proficient in AutoCAD.
