**Job Description**
The Metabolism and Lipids Program—a rapidly growing clinical research and patient care initiative—is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented **Project Coordinator I** to provide direct support to the Program Director, Robert Rosenson, MD. This role ensures the successful execution of **academic projects** the Director is responsible for, enabling him to focus on advancing research, clinical care, and scholarly initiatives.
The Project Coordinator will serve as a **critical support resource to the Director** , managing complex academic projects, coordinating key activities, and streamlining workflows. A significant component of this role involves **scientific writing and editing** , including revising and submitting manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations for academic deliverables. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, advanced technical proficiency, and the ability to anticipate needs and solve problems independently in a fast-paced environment.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree required ( **preferred in a science-related field,** e.g., biology, chemistry, public health, or related discipline), or equivalent education and work experience
+ None required, 3+ years of experience providing executive-level support or project coordination, preferably in healthcare, academic medicine, or research preferred
+ **Exceptional writing and editing skills** , with experience preparing scientific manuscripts and presentations.
+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management tools, digital workflow systems, and social media platforms.
+ Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
+ Strong verbal communication skills; able to synthesize complex information for diverse audiences.
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
+ **Meticulous attention to detail** , resourcefulness, and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work.
**Responsibilities**
+ Coordinate and track **academic projects** , ensuring timelines, deliverables, and objectives are met.
+ Maintain **accurate records for disclosures, contracts, and project documentation** .
+ Prepare, revise, and submit **scientific manuscripts** , **abstracts** , and **presentations** for conferences and publications.
+ **Manage the Director’s complex calendar** , meetings, and travel, ensuring alignment with project priorities.
+ **Organize logistics** for initiatives involving the Director, preparing agendas, briefing materials, and follow-up documentation.
+ Review and prioritize incoming communications, handling routine matters independently and escalating urgent issues appropriately.
+ Support procurement and Academic Research Organization (ARO) agreements related to academic projects.
+ **Utilize advanced computer skills** to manage digital workflows, databases, and collaborative platforms.
+ **Leverage social media** and digital tools to support Director’s academic visibility.
+ Apply **resourcefulness** and **independent problem-solving** to overcome challenges and ensure project success.
+ Performs other related duties.

**Compensation Statement**
Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $66482.07 - $75000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
