As a Project Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules and forecasts using Oracle Primavera P6 and other project tools. You will support Earned Value Management (EVM), progress measurement, and variance analysis, while preparing drafts of monthly progress reports and ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain project schedules and forecasts using Oracle Primavera P6 and other project tools.Support Earned Value Management (EVM), progress measurement, and variance analysis.Prepare drafts of monthly progress reports.Track and ensure compliance with contract requirements.Utilize established processes and tools on projects.Assist in preparation and review of schedules and cost estimates.Prepare various reports and demonstrate understanding of project control tools.Assist in schedule baseline and schedule update reviews.Provide support with constructability/bid reviews, schedule impact analysis, contract changes/work orders, project risk analysis, project records, and contract administration.Manage project information, including hard-copy and electronic files.Coordinate information flow between project team and client.Attend project meetings and prepare detailed minutes.Develop presentations based on input from project team members.Prepare new project start-up documents per project and quality procedures.Perform other duties as needed.Essential SkillsMinimum of 2 years' experience in project coordination with a consulting/engineering firm.Proficient with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Applications, and Adobe Acrobat.Strong oral and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple long- and short-term tasks simultaneously.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in engineering change orders and engineering controls.Background in engineering consulting.Local candidates preferred.Work EnvironmentThe role requires splitting time between the corporate office in Midlothian and client sites in Richmond, VA. It is an in-office role, requiring presence 5 days a week. Some weeks may require additional effort. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $57.00/hr.
