Position Summary 

The Project Controls Analyst supports the Project Controls Manager and project teams by providing detailed cost tracking, change control support, and financial analysis for construction projects. This role is critical to improving cost visibility, forecasting accuracy, and financial discipline across projects. The position sits within the Accounting & Finance Department and works closely with Project Management and Operations. 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities 

Track and analyze project costs, budgets, and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle. Assist with change order management, including log maintenance, pricing support, approval tracking, and financial impact analysis. Prepare monthly job cost reports, cost-to-complete analyses, and variance explanations. Support cash flow forecasting and earned value reporting. Reconcile project cost data between project management systems and accounting systems. Assist with WIP preparation and support timely monthly WIP reviews. Support project billings by validating cost data, percent complete, and approved change orders. Assist with monitoring project-level accounts receivable and collections status. Review project-level accounts payable activity to support accurate cost capture and cash flow visibility. Assist project managers with budget updates, forecast revisions, and financial performance reviews. Identify cost trends, risks, and anomalies and escalate concerns to the Project Controls Manager. Support month-end close activities related to job costs and project financials. Maintain accurate and organized project financial documentation. Assist with audits, internal reviews, and management reporting as required. 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred). 2–5 years of experience in construction cost control, project accounting, or financial analysis. Working knowledge of construction job cost systems and project controls concepts. Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets. High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with project teams. 

Preferred Experience 

Experience in heavy civil, geotechnical, or specialty construction. Familiarity with change management and cost forecasting on active construction projects. Experience with construction accounting or ERP systems.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule. Employees will be expected to work in the Westminster, CO office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

 

The expected base pay range for this position in the Colorado area is $85,000-$110,000 Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential bonus or benefits.
