Job Title: Project Civil Engineer

Job Description

Engage in the planning, design, and permitting of civil, land development, and infrastructure projects while managing client communication. Oversee site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion/sediment control from concept to completion, building and maintaining client relationships and supporting business development efforts.

Responsibilities

Oversee the planning, design, and permitting of civil, land development, and infrastructure projects.Manage client communication and build strong client relationships to support business development.Supervise site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion/sediment control throughout project phases.Manage multiple projects within budget and schedule, proactively monitoring timelines and minimizing write-offs.Prepare and review reports and proposals, including feasibility studies, stormwater reports, specifications, and utility documentation.Provide hydrologic and hydraulic expertise, including SWPPP preparation and water quality compliance.Collaborate with office leadership on growth initiatives and staff utilization.Perform additional duties as needed.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.PE license.6+ years of site/civil land development experience.Strong knowledge of local land-use regulations.Proven ability to build and manage client relationships.Experience with site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion/sediment control.Successful track record managing projects from concept through construction documents.Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate staff.Expertise in stormwater management, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and SWPPP development.Strong technical and proposal writing abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in AutoCAD or Civil 3D.Ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and regulatory agencies.Strong attention to detail and solid analytical judgment.Able to work independently and collaboratively.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for meetings and site visits.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in working on multidisciplinary teams.

Work Environment

This role reports to a site/civil leader and involves collaboration with another Project Manager and two project managers under them. The team consists of 20 people working on a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from industrial, commercial, data centers, and solar work. The work environment promotes a seller-doer model where individuals own and oversee their projects. Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
