The Project Associate reports directly to the team Project Manager. This is a client-facing role that requires the ability to build relationships both in and out of the office. The core responsibility of a Project Associate is to learn through on-the-job experience, peer-to-peer engagement, and technical training. The Project Associate is phase 1 of 3 on the path to becoming a Project Manager with one of the largest electrical technology companies in the country

Essential Duties & Responsibilities This is a list of the most prominent duties and responsibilities: Understand Miller Electric’s service-based approach to the electrical project management process. Build long-term relationships with your clients and fellow employees by earning trust through diligent communication and a high-quality work ethic. Support the generation of estimates and proposals to support your team in winning new work, establishing procedures, and scheduling timelines. Develop a solid electrical/material vocabulary and understanding of job site etiquette. Work with your team to ensure the project is built following design, budget, and schedule. Collaborate with your field leaders to confirm client expectations and coordinate with subcontractors and other trades. Assess construction progress, team needs, and issues through regular project visits with your field supervision. Work with vendors to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials.
Qualifications REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree or IBEW licensed electrician Strong computer skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Commitment to developing time management and organizational skills Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on learning environment
PREFERRED:
Experience working in the construction industry Familiar with computer-based estimating Understanding of billing and collections Work Environment
