About the Role

We’re seeking a highly skilled Project Architect to take a leading role on a major SCA school project currently under construction in Brooklyn. This is a dynamic, hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys problem-solving in the field, and excels in guiding complex projects through construction.

This long-term assignment is expected to continue for at least two more years, with strong potential for further extension based on project needs.

What You’ll Do

As the technical and construction administration lead, you will be the driving force behind the successful delivery of this high-profile project. Your responsibilities will include:

Lead daily construction administration and serve as the main point of contact for SCA, contractors, and consultants.Conduct regular site visits and operate confidently in an active construction setting.Manage construction meetings, agendas, minutes, and action items.Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings promptly.Oversee redesign efforts during construction and coordinate with MEP consultants.Support additional projects on a limited basis as needed.Essential SkillsStrong experience in construction administration for active projects.Proven ability to manage and coordinate projects already in construction.Proficiency in AutoCAD.Hands-on experience with RFIs, submittals, and construction documentation.Confidence working directly with contractors, subs, and client reps.Experience with SCA or other public-sector agencies (highly valued, but not required).Additional QualificationsApproximately 8–12 years of professional architectural experience.Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.Proficiency with Bluebeam and standard office tools (Word, Excel).Architectural license is a plus but not required.Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.Ability to manage real-time design modifications during construction.Work Environment & ScheduleIn-office presence five days per week during the initial onboarding and project immersion phase.Ongoing schedule includes regular weekly site visits, with additional visits as needed depending on construction activity.Flexibility may be introduced after acclimation.Candidates must be based in NYC due to fieldwork and in-person meetings.You’ll have access to a fully equipped workstation and all required software.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
