The Project Architect plays a key role in leading technical design efforts and overseeing project documentation across a variety of architectural project types. This position requires strong design capability, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to guide project teams through all phases of the work. The Project Architect collaborates closely with project managers, consultants, and junior staff to deliver high‑quality, well‑coordinated, and buildable architectural solutions.

ResponsibilitiesProject & Technical LeadershipLead the technical design and detailing on multiple projects across various market sectors.Oversee production of construction documents and ensure coordination across all project phases.Conduct constructability reviews to ensure drawings and specifications align with project intent, standards, and practical construction methods.Provide architectural detailing expertise and quality control review for all assigned work.Project Management SupportAssist Project Managers in preparing proposals, scopes of work, and budget estimates in coordination with internal teams.Support client and agency coordination, helping move projects smoothly through regulatory reviews and permitting processes.Coordinate with consultants to ensure seamless integration of engineering and specialty disciplines into the architectural design.Team Mentorship & CollaborationMentor junior and intermediate staff on technical standards, best practices, and professional development.Contribute to a collaborative, creative, and solutions-oriented team culture.Serve as a professional ambassador for the firm, maintaining positive relationships with clients, consultants, agencies, and project partners.Business DevelopmentParticipate in business development activities, including proposal conversations, presentations, and client relationship-building as needed.Help grow project opportunities by identifying potential leads and supporting marketing initiatives.What You’ll Bring to the TableBachelor’s Degree in Architecture.7+ years of practical experience in architectural design, project documentation, and project management support.Active architectural licensure in the state of California.Proficiency in Revit for architectural documentation.Strong knowledge of California building codes, permitting processes, and regulatory agency coordination.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.Exceptional architectural detailing and technical design skills.Current knowledge of professional codes, laws, technology trends, and industry applications.Above & BeyondPrevious experience in a multidisciplinary environment (architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, planning, or surveying).Experience in multiple project types, including civic, education, public safety, commercial, residential, or institutional buildings.Interest in mentoring, team leadership, and long‑term professional growth.Work EnvironmentYou will be part of a collaborative architectural practice that values innovation, design excellence, and technical rigor.
