Job Title: Project ArchitectJob Description We are seeking a highly skilled Project Architect to join our team. The role involves performing code reviews, ensuring compliance with project budgets and schedules, selecting and evaluating design components, and implementing them in projects. You will evaluate existing conditions and formulate responses to challenges, and be responsible for significant aspects of larger projects as well as smaller projects. You will oversee daily design and technical development and supervise the production of Construction Documents through CAD and BIM. Coordination and quality assurance of consultants' work are essential, along with construction administration for select projects. Responsibilities + Perform code reviews and ensure compliance with project budgets and schedules. + Select, evaluate, and implement design components used in projects. + Evaluate existing conditions and formulate responses to challenges. + Responsible for significant aspects of larger projects and work on smaller projects. + Supervise and produce Construction Documents through CAD and BIM. + Coordinate and perform quality assurance of consultants' work. + Perform construction administration for select projects. + Maintain project files and manage multiple projects simultaneously. + Document and communicate specific project tasks to clients and the team. + Design and implement project scope of work, ensuring schedule compliance. + Manage between 1 to possibly 15 projects at a time. Essential Skills + Revit proficiency is a must. + Licensed Architect. + Minimum 10-12 years experience in education and/or public/state projects. + Technical experience in all phases of design, documentation, detailing, and construction. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor or Master's degree from an accredited program. + Experience in staff training for junior designers. + Ability to participate in prospective client interviews. + Knowledge of building codes with public sector experience being a plus. + Ability to observe, identify, and communicate potential future projects. Work Environment The firm comprises 25 people, with 4 principals, 3 of whom are active. Located in Somerville, NJ, the office fosters a work-hard, play-hard environment. Team outings, bagel Fridays, and happy hours are some of the engaging activities. The day-to-day is fast-paced and can be hectic at times. You will work on a fair amount of new construction projects involving steel frame construction for schools and office buildings. After 90 days, enjoy a hybrid schedule and half-day Fridays. The firm supports and pays for licensing exams, provides AXP credits towards licensure, and offers advancement opportunities within the company.
