Project Architect
This role maximizes company sales growth and profitability by coordinating projects and managing store development teams through the concept, design development, design coordination and construction administration phases of the built store environment for all company brand locations globally. This is an on-site position (Monday through Thursday) based out of our Northbrook, IL office with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays. A day in the life of a Project Architect... + Manage a team of external consultants, including engineers and architects, through the process of store design and construction with emphasis on brand standards (for all brands) and application of the store Design Intent + Manage the process of internal and external approvals, including all necessary municipal design reviews, visual merchandising coordination, and operational coordination + Develop and manage a studio design development schedule for each store project, in cooperation with the Senior Director of Architecture and the Construction Department + Establish the project Design Intent and manage coordination of construction documents for each store project, in cooperation with the Construction Department and external project team + Manage office tasks through construction administration for each store project, in cooperation with the Construction Department and external project team + Review building area reports from the building information model for each store project + Guide production of rendered images from the building information model, for internal design review, landlord/developer review and municipality review, as needed for each store project + Conduct required construction site visits for each store project, in cooperation with the Construction Department and external project team + Collaborate with the Construction Department to ensure each store project maintains or improves the construction budget set within the company approved store pro forma + Identify and implement improvements in the development process of store projects, in collaboration with key stakeholders. What you'll bring to the table... + High quality and flexible building design and space planning skills + Ability to sketch and present design ideas + Advanced comprehension of construction documents, including contracts, and advanced knowledge of construction means and methods + Excellent communication and presentation skills + Excellent organizational and problem solving skills, and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously We'd love to hear from you if you have... + 5+ years of architecture experience; architect license preferred + MArch or professional degree or higher degree in architecture or related field + Proficiency with Microsoft Suite or Google Workspace, Web Conferencing, Autodesk Revit Architecture, Autodesk AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator Euromarket Designs, Inc., which does business as Crate and Barrel and CB2, will be referred to as “the Company”.
