Project Accountant - Team Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Accountant – Team Lead to mentor a team of 3–4 project accountants and play a key role in aligning financial goals with project execution. This is a dynamic opportunity to collaborate with business leaders and cross-functional teams, while driving strategic financial planning and performance across projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and support a team of project accountants, fostering professional growth.Build strong relationships with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.Translate project plans into accurate financial forecasts and annual budgets.Monitor key financial metrics including revenue, gross profit, and expenses.Oversee project reviews and communicate financial updates, risks, and opportunities to leadership.Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting.Track billing schedules, receivables, and cost overruns.Monitor and report on project cash flow, escalating significant variances.Coordinate intercompany transactions and ensure proper documentation.Support month-end close, financial summaries, and rolling forecasts.Partner with Shared Services and Accounting for billing, collections, and reporting.Identify and implement process improvements, including automation initiatives.Use financial insights to support strategic decisions and improve outcomes.Stay informed on industry trends, project management practices, and reporting standards.Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance, with strong GAAP knowledge.5–10 years of experience in project accounting, ideally in construction, manufacturing, or similar industries.Strong background in project or technical accounting, including PoC (Percentage of Completion) accounting.Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX or SAP.Preferred SkillsKnowledge of IFRS.Familiarity with reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, or BW.Experience with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft Access).CPA or other relevant certifications.Manufacturing or cost accounting experience.Work Environment

This role requires in-office presence four days per week, with equipment provided for remote work on the fifth day. You’ll work closely with a collaborative team of project accountants in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
