Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Project Accountant to manage requisition billings for all ongoing projects. This role involves utilizing Sage software, Excel, and third-party billing programs such as Textura, GCPay, and Procore. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate spreadsheets for contracts and job lists, ensuring change orders, allowances, and stored materials are billed appropriately each month. This is a stable, long-term position with room for growth within the organization.
ResponsibilitiesManage accounts payable for all projects, processing approximately 200-250 monthly invoices in a paperless environment and making payments to vendors weekly.Maintain required insurance, lien waivers, subcontracts, and other compliance documentation from all subcontractors and suppliers.Be knowledgeable with sales tax rules for construction and prepare tax-exempt certificates for vendors.Handle contract intake, job setup, and maintenance of job files.Request insurance certificates and bonds from agents.Communicate effectively with project managers and estimators to gather required information.Prepare all monthly CHRO reports and paperwork.Review accounts receivable weekly and follow up on aged accounts as needed.Assist the team and project managers with ad hoc reporting as needed.Essential SkillsExperience with AIA billing and construction accounting.Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.Strong skills in contract management.Computer proficiency, especially in modifying PDFs.Strong administrative support and data entry skills.Excellent reconciliation abilities.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong multitasking skills, organization, and attention to detail.Ability to access information quickly and efficiently in digital environments.Excellent verbal and written business communication skills.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.Work Environment
Located in Newington, the work schedule is from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. You will join a small team with potential for one day of hybrid work after training, which needs to be earned. The role offers potential growth opportunities towards Assistant responsibilities. The environment is collaborative, promoting both independent and teamwork efforts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
