Job Title: Project Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to support day-to-day financial activities within the Outage Business Unit at a major Florida-based power generation site. This role is critical during planned outage seasons and requires strong accounting fundamentals, operational awareness, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced plant environment. You will handle site-level financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, while also ensuring accurate consolidation of project entities and compliance with SOX and GAAP requirements. This is a contract role with the potential to extend up to two years and may convert to a full-time position based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities
Prepare financial statements, operating budgets, and site-level financial reports.Handle daily accounting activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.Ensure accurate consolidation and reporting of all project entities.Maintain SOX compliance across all accounting processes.Create financial forecasts and support site-level budgeting.Prepare quarterly tax provisions and ensure timely reporting.Interpret and apply accounting policies relevant to the site.Essential Skills
6-10 years of experience in accounting.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, and modeling.Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and consolidation.Experience in dealing directly with vendors, accounts payable/receivable, and project accounting.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.CPA / MBA or advanced degree is desirable.Background in construction, industrial plants, refinery, or similar environments is highly beneficial.Familiarity with SAP, FMIP, Passport, or similar ERP systems preferred.Work Environment
The position requires working onsite Monday through Friday in Indiantown, FL. During project ramps, the role necessitates working six 10-hour shifts. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.
