Job Description
The EVM Specialist will independently manage client billing, monitor collections, and oversee project budgets. This role includes providing backup support for accounts payable tasks, such as coding, processing timesheets, and expense reports. The specialist will maintain accurate contract records, collaborate with project teams to provide financial insights, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Additional duties include preparing project documentation, organizing meetings, and guiding junior accountants.
ResponsibilitiesIndependently handle client billing and monitor collections.Oversee project budgets and provide backup support for accounts payable tasks.Maintain accurate contract records, including fee structures and budget entries.Collaborate with project teams to deliver timely financial insights.Resolve contract-related financial concerns.Ensure departmental project accounting systems align with compliance standards.Support multiple project managers and team members daily.Assist with the preparation of project initiation documentation.Organize and schedule project-related meetings.Review and interpret both client and internal contracts.Demonstrate expertise in project accounting and invoicing.Guide and support junior project accountants as needed.Perform additional duties as assigned.Essential SkillsAssociate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of five years of relevant experience.Familiarity with Earned Value Management principles.Excellent communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and proofreading.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven.Capable of handling sensitive and confidential information.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Outlook.Proactive mindset and commitment to a collaborative, employee-owned culture.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.Experience in leading or mentoring financial professionals is a plus.Strong understanding of prime contract terms.Experience in drafting subcontracts and tracking deliverables.Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups.Experience with ERP systems, specifically Oracle.Work Environment
The position is based in a corporate office located in Irvine, within a two-story building offering great views. The role requires full onsite attendance initially, with potential for up to two remote days weekly based on performance. The team comprises five Project Accountants, and the environment is open concept with offices for management. The culture values team players who are not afraid to point out mistakes or suggest improvements but are respectful of established processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $47.12/hr.
