Project Accountant

Description

Build strong relationships with business leaders and cross-functional teams.

Translate project plans and resource needs into financial forecasts and annual budgets.

Monitor key metrics like revenue, gross profit, and expenses to track performance.

Lead project reviews and communicate updates and risks to leadership.

Work closely with Project Managers to:

Keep project budgets and financials accurate and up to date.

Track billing, receivables, and cost overruns.

Monitor and report on project cash flow.

Report quarterly revenue, cash flow forecasts, and risk mitigation plans.

Coordinate with intercompany teams for accurate project-related transactions.

Support month-end close, financial summaries, and rolling forecasts.

Collaborate with Shared Services on billing, invoicing, and collections.

Partner with Accounting to ensure timely and accurate financial closes.

Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.

Use financial insights to support better business decisions.

Continuously grow your knowledge of the industry, company, and project management best practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

4+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or audit, with at least 2 years focused on FP&A and complex financial analysis.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance, with a solid understanding of GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a big plus.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

Hands-on experience with ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics or SAP.

Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Familiarity with reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, or BW is a plus.

Experience working with relational databases (Access or similar) and strong data analysis skills.

Knowledge of Percentage of Completion (PoC) accounting is highly preferred.

Manufacturing or cost accounting experience is a bonus.

CPA or other professional certifications are a plus.

Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing and presenting to leadership.

Quick thinker who can contribute meaningfully in meetings and adapt on the fly.

A proactive learner who’s eager to grow and take on new challenges.

Solid understanding of finance operations and how they support business goals.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
