We are seeking a Project Cost Analyst to manage and coordinate project cost analysis and controls, supporting project managers and staff. This role is essential in overseeing cost reporting for multiple projects and monitoring project budgets to ensure accurate cost depiction. The position may be elevated to a senior level for the ideal candidate.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate project meetings and collaborate with team members on project activities.Support project managers in preparing and updating project documentation and planning.Assist in preparing forecasts of project spending, cash flows, and budget variance monitoring.Conduct cost tracking and analysis, including estimate versus actuals analysis.Collaborate with project management and other stakeholders to perform variance reporting and establish original baseline budgets.Create project breakdown structures and perform departmental organizational functions as needed.Assist in the contracting process, including bidding activities and cost tracking.Communicate with project team resources and external stakeholders on budgetary matters.Apply problem-solving skills to technical problems and initiate solution techniques.Develop and compile key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure outcomes.Provide strong teamwork with colleagues, vendors, and customers, resolving inquiries and implementing action plans.Understand and adhere to project/work management organizational standards and governance committee guidelines.Coordinate work activities of others within the team or external to the company to resolve technical tasks and field work activities.
Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field from an accredited university with at least one year of qualified experience.Associate's degree in a related field with at least three years of qualified experience.Utility-specific operations knowledge and experience in operations planning, project management, cost tracking, analysis, and forecasting.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Strong time management, organizational, and planning skills.Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
Additional Skills & QualificationsExposure to corporate accounting and project cost management systems.Experience in construction environments, earned value management, and scheduling systems is preferred but not required.Adept at managing time efficiently and effectively, with attention to detail.Team player with a collaborative approach.
Work Environment
This position requires onsite work five days a week in the office, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Limited flexibility is available with permission. Candidates must be local to Columbus, OH, and surrounding areas as relocation from another state will not be considered.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $41.50/hr.
