This individual is responsible for selecting and pricing business written within MMA’s Programs division. They must develop productive relationships with retail producers that will result in the sustained growth and profitability of this program. This person will maintain underwriting files for the program and interact with our insurance carrier and vendor partners to assure the smooth operation of the program. Program underwriting guidelines must be consistently applied. In force business must be serviced effectively, and problems must be promptly resolved.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesUnderwrite Programs submissionsReview applications and collect required information.Apply program underwriting guidelines.Develop appropriate risk pricing.Interact with insurance carrier partner and producers, as required.Create, document and maintain underwriting files.Facilitate wholesale placements with supporting lines of coverage.Service existing B&B Programs accountsReceive and process policy service requests.Resolve any service problems promptly.Develop and provide renewal proposals and policies in a timely manner.Monitor loss results and take corrective action where required.Initiate and monitor loss prevention surveys, taking action as needed.Solicit new business opportunitiesDevelop productive relationships with retail agents.Participate in the presentation of program proposals.Compete aggressively and effectively for desirable program business.Grow the program profitably.Monitor program performance and initiate corrective actionsReview losses to identify and deal with problem areas.Identify changes required in program underwriting guidelines or pricing.Provide feedback on vendor performance.Education and/or ExperienceSuccessful candidate will be an analytical individual with high personal standards and a hands-on work style in addition to the following:
Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of 4 years work experience managing projects and analyzing data.
Highly proficient with personal computer and MS Office (particularly Excel) required.Effective organizational skills and proven ability to balance multiple assignments.Ability to resolve problems and present results neatly, with clarity and precision in oral and written form.Ability to exercise judgment and initiative within established guidelinesAbility to obtain and maintain Property & Casualty license requiredResources/Tools such as AM Best; IRMI; ISO; ODEN; PAAS; etc. AM Best (Underwriting Reports; Loss Control Reports); ISO (CLM; State Manuals; Forms; etc); PAAS (Bulletins; Industry Guides; etc); IRMI Manuals; etc.Advanced insurance designations applicable to the above duties strongly preferred as well as a willingness to pursue continuing education and professional development.Maintain a valid Drivers License and reliable transportation.Work Environment & Physical DemandsAbility to use computer keyboard and sit in a stationary position for extended periods.Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment.15% - 30% travel may be required. Travel consists of 1 – 2 overnight trips per year covering areas both in and out of state. Extended work hours (10 – 12 hrs/day) required on occasion due to attendance and participation at networking and industry functions that begin well before the workday, and may extend well into the evening.#MMAwest

The applicable base salary range for this role is $64,700 to $120,400.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
