\t\t\t\t\tJob Description: Program/Project Manager – PDS&T (Late-Stage Development, Devices)Hiring Manager: George McNicholas (based in Ireland)Location: Branchburg (hybrid; a couple days onsite)Organization: Product Development Science & Technology (PDS&T) / CAD OrganizationFocus: Late-stage development program management for combination products / medical devices + pharmaRole OverviewAbbVie is seeking an experienced Program/Project Manager to enable commercialization of New Product Introductions (NPI) and lead portfolio/on‑market support projects for late‑stage products and device programs. This role sits within PDS&T and supports Branchburg operations, which is a unique and strategic site within AbbVie’s portfolio.This position is responsible for picking up programs from the R&D organization at handover and driving execution through technical transfer, readiness, and launch, ensuring cross-functional alignment, robust governance, and timely delivery across global teams and suppliers.Manager insight: George is looking for someone with a strong operations/manufacturing mindset—resourceful, adaptable, quick-learning—who can bring structure, run workshops, manage outputs, and drive delivery across cross-functional teams. “Not every box needs to be checked” — he wants maximum value vs. simply paying top rate.Department ObjectiveEnable commercialization of NPIs, manage portfolio/on‑market support projects, and provide project/program management expertise across the CAD organization. Lead NPI programs from R&D handover through launch and act as a commercialization liaison. Drive integrated cross-functional execution to deliver compliant, cost-effective, high-quality products while keeping leadership informed and recommending value-added alternatives.Primary ResponsibilitiesBuild bottom‑up project/program plans with cross-functional stakeholders (R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Commercial).Manage execution across PDS&T, franchise organizations, and third‑party suppliers.Coordinate global project teams for:NPI program managementTechnical transfersProduct maintenanceGlobal launches (combination device/device programs)Drive process improvement initiatives and support development of PDS&T program management processes.Operate effectively in remote + office-based settings and collaborate across time zones as needed.Apply escalation and governance models to ensure timely decisions and risk mitigation.Key Deliverables / ToolsEnsure project governance includes:Microsoft Project scheduleWorkstream summaries using Office Timeline PlusAction Log, Risk Log, Decision Log, RACIMilestones, budget tracking, reporting cadence, corrective action plansSupplier/vendor oversight and shared milestone management

\t\t\t\t\tRequired Qualifications (Must-Haves)Experience & Industry10–15 years of experience in medical device and pharmaceutical environments (combination products strongly preferred).Proven experience in operations and late-stage product development (ideal: manufacturing/plant-level exposure).Experience leading cross-functional teams through complex execution and delivery.CertificationsPMI qualification required (PMP/PMI credential).Core Skill RequirementsStrong project/program management tools & techniques; ability to build plans from the ground up and drive execution.Strong facilitation capability (workshops, decision-making forums, cross-functional alignment).Comfortable with escalation processes and governance—keeping leadership informed and moving work forward.Manager preference: Med device/pharma backgrounds are ideal. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90.00 - $120.00/hr.
