About the Role 

As Program Manager Certification, you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing certification and regulatory activities for complex automotive customer programs within the CAM VW organization. 

 

You ensure that all products meet applicable regulatory, homologation, and OEM-specific requirements across hardware, software, and system scope. 

Working closely with internal stakeholders (SW, HW, components, manufacturing, quality) as well as external partners, authorities, and test houses, you protect certification milestones and program schedules while providing transparent status reporting to program leadership and management. 
 

What You Will Do 

• Define, align, and manage the overall certification strategy in coordination with internal stakeholders (software, hardware, components, availability) and external partners. 
• Ensure regulatory and homologation compliance with all applicable legal standards, norms, and OEM-specific requirements. 
• Support compliance and MNO teams throughout the complete certification and approval process. 
• Coordinate the availability of required equipment, samples, benches, and test setups for certification, approval, and regulatory testing activities. 
• Actively support escalation processes related to certification topics, including preparation of deliverables and communication towards authorities and test houses. 
• Drive impact assessments on certification scope, timing, and risk in case of changes to hardware, software, or overall program scope. 
• Manage certification-related risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations, including definition and tracking of mitigation actions. 
• Protect certification milestones and ensure alignment with overall program timing and customer commitments. 
• Provide transparent and structured reporting on certification status, risks, and progress to program leadership and management. 
• Track certification-related tasks in Teamcenter and ensure accurate and timely status reporting. 
• Contribute to continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and optimizing certification processes within the program organization. 

 

What You Need to Be Successful 

University degree in Engineering (Electrical, IT, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline) or comparable qualification. 
• 2-3 years of experience in program management, project coordination, or a comparable role in an automotive or technology environment. 
• Hands-on experience in Sample Management, Engineering Hardware, benches, or industrialization support is highly preferred. 
• Good understanding of automotive development and industrialization processes. 
• Structured, reliable, and detail-oriented working style with strong coordination skills. 
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and international teams. 
• Fluent in Romanian and English (written and spoken). 

 

Bonus Points if You Have  

• Basic knowledge of PMI methodologies, Automotive SPICE, or IATF 16949. 
• Initial experience with VW Group programs or customers. 
• Familiarity with program management tools and reporting systems. 
• Understanding of HARMAN Core Competencies (Results, Change, Customer, Team, Self-Awareness).

• Willingness to work on-site in Bucharest, Romania, as required.
