Amazon Prime Air is revolutionizing delivery through autonomous drone technology, aiming to deliver packages to customers in 30 minutes or less. Our breakthrough technologies, including advanced BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) capabilities and sophisticated detect-and-avoid systems, have earned FAA approvals and are setting new standards in autonomous delivery.
With operations already successful in multiple locations and expansion planned, we're seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to support launch specific technical integrations and use data to drive future topology of the program. In this role, you'll work at the intersection of innovative technology, operational excellence and implementation, and strategic planning to help scale Prime Air's revolutionary delivery system.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in delivering complex technical programs with quick timelines. You'll be responsible for driving standard business mechanisms across engineering teams and managing integration between engineering and product teams to deliver on complex schedules. This role requires the ability to drive decisions in ambiguous environments, strong business acumen, and exceptional bias for action. You are an effective written and verbal communicator and can navigate competing priorities across a complex organization with high visibility to customers and stakeholders.
Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
Key job responsibilities
- Analyze datasets to identify optimal site locations based on regional demand and operational factors.
- Develop financial simulations to evaluate potential locations against business objectives.
- Support our existing ArcGIS platform with a basic knowledge of vector & geospatial data, and aviation no fly constraints.
- Expand our modeling capabilities internationally, including sourcing appropriate regional datasets.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance during site launches.
- Serve as a technical liaison for install and testing of specialized equipment.
- Document technical processes and create standardized technical launch protocols.
Basic Qualifications
• 8+ years of program or project management experience that is adjacent to technical integrations
• Experience using data and metrics to for statistical modeling & driving improvements
• Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
• Understand general aviation no-fly constraints
• Proven track record of delivering complex technical projects in fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications
• Track record of driving process improvements at scale
• Experience with topology planning or network design
• Experience with fulfillment center operations and last-mile delivery integration
• Knowledge of GIS tools like QGIS, ArcGIS and handling of vector and raster geospatial data.
• 5+ years of working in technical & engineering environments
• Develop and execute program level mechanisms to succinctly define program status, risks, and solutions to Sr. Leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
