Program Manager, POST
Description The POST team is one of the main points of contact between Amazon and USPS, ensuring smooth processing and optimization of our final mile network. As a Program Manager, you will work autonomously to drive results, define long-term strategies to address systemic issues, make trade-offs between time/quality/resources, track trends across internal/external metrics to create action plans, work across multiple stakeholders for coordination and accountability and navigate through ambiguity to decide on the correct deliverables. Key job responsibilities • Strategically analyze KPIs to develop targeted action plans aimed towards long-term defect reduction and use accessible resources to track milestones towards success • Develop and influence new ideas/approaches for enhancing the Amazon-USPS partnership in Final Mile delivery. Establishes procedures, plans, and practices which promote the adoption of innovative solutions and sustainability of desired results in complex last-mile logistics environments. • Demonstrate strong commitment towards shared goals and outcomes, ensuring completion within established time-frames. Drives and facilitates moderately complex projects focused on improving Final Mile efficiency. • Facilitates effective communication and cooperation between Amazon and USPS teams to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement in the Final Mile space. • Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions and reasons behind leadership decisions • Oversee gaps between teams, processes and systems, helping teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes (e.g., requirements not sufficiently understood or documented, ineffective cross-team collaboration, long-term impact(s) from third-party solutions, insufficient stakeholder review, etc.) • Create strategic initiatives to mitigate customer service disruptions and safety escalations. About the team The Postal Operations, Safety, & Strategy Team (POST) is a distinguished group, with many tenured Amazonians each having well over 5, and even 10 years of Amazon logistics experience! As a pivotal liaison with USPS, we orchestrate the intricate realm of parcel movement. Comprising three specialized departments, Quality & Innovation, Performance & Execution, and Strategy & Planning. Our team is committed to elevating operational prowess, amplifying efficiency, and guaranteeing the precision of parcel deliveries. Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of program or project management experience - 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience - Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL - Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements - Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams - Bachelor's degree Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience - 3+ years of driving process improvements experience - Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization - Experience building processes, project management, and schedules Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
