Position Summary

Deloitte Finance Transformation – Profitability, Costing & Allocations – Senior Consultant 

Our Finance Transformation team serves as trusted advisors to CFOs, COOs, CIOs, and other key executives, providing strategic advice and implementing as-a-service solutions. We focus on enhancing finance operations and developing strategies to support enterprise wide decision-making, ultimately unlocking financial performance and enterprise value.

 Position Summary 

As a Senior Consultant at Deloitte, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside leading professionals building your professional skills in a variety of analytical techniques and industry skills. 

Key Responsibilities 

Client Engagement: Conduct current state assessments of clients’ product and service costing, allocations, and profitability reporting processes; collaborate with clients to understand business challenges and identify solutions that drive desired outcomes 

Data Analysis: Query and analyze data sets of varying sizes to uncover patterns and deliver actionable insights; create, manage, and leverage both structured and unstructured data stores; map data flows, identify optimal design and governance options, and assess potential data quality risks; apply data visualization tools to support and enable informed decision-making 

PaPM: Utilize SAP Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM) to model, analyze, and optimize financial performance and cost allocations; design and implement allocation and costing methodologies to determine profitability by product, customer, and channel 

Develop and Design: Develop system requirements, design prototypes, conduct testing and train, and define support procedures for implementation; develop business solutions using emerging automation, cognitive, and machine learning technologies 

Team Overview 

Responsible for the installation, development, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of package technologies. Includes defining or coordinating common processes or procedures to support package custom development, APIs, UI/UX, and process flows and handshakes. 

Our Finance Transformation team collaborates with key executives to advise, implement, and deliver solutions that enhance decision-making and finance operations. We focus on transforming finance functions into dynamic capabilities, leveraging best-in-class solutions across finance and analytics, planning, FP&A as-a-service, finance technology strategy, and ERP-enabled finance transformation. 

Our Business Finance offering enables finance teams to deliver strategic value by integrating planning, costing, budgeting, and forecasting across functions. Leveraging advanced data and technology platforms, we provide actionable insights, streamline decision-making, and support data-driven growth. We also offer comprehensive grants management solutions to effectively manage risks and opportunities in complex grant programs. 

Our Profitability, Costing, and Allocations team collaborates with clients to optimize financial processes and enhance decision-making. We specialize in designing and implementing solutions for profitability reporting, product and customer costing, and complex cost allocation challenges. Leveraging advanced analytics and leading technologies, our team provides actionable insights that drive transparency, efficiency, and value across the organization. By aligning financial data with business strategy, we help clients achieve greater accuracy in reporting, informed resource allocation, and improved overall performance.

Qualifications 

Required Qualifications: 

Profitability, Costing & Allocations Experience:  

4+ years of technical or advisory-related experience in profitability reporting, product/service costing, and cost allocations  Experience in building cost and profitability models and using purpose-built solutions 

Technology:

Working knowledge of SAP S4 HANA and/or Oracle  Understanding the alignment of BW/4 HANA / Native HANA Model with PaPM Model 

Data Sets:

Experience working with and managing data sets, including extraction and merges from source systems, transformation, and providing preliminary descriptive analytics 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in one of the following majors with relevant analytics or data management focused coursework desired  Technology: Data Analytics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems Business: Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics Engineering: Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math, Statistics, Actuarial 

 Travel: 

Ability to travel up to 50%, based on the work you do and the clients ~ industry sectors you serve 

Immigration:

Preferred Qualifications: 

PaPM:

Hands-on experience in designing and implementing SAP Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM)  Assist with defining the data model in PaPM, support integration discussions, guide on standard capabilities in PaPM and drive design of the business rules 

Analytical Tools:

Experience with a variety of analytics tools and programming languages such as, but not limited to: Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle CostPerform  SAP, Oracle, Oracle EPCM, Hyperion, Anaplan  Big Data Tools (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Impala, Mahout), Machine Learning/Cognitive (e.g., Python, Mahout, CognitiveScale) 

Predictive Analytics/Data Mining: (e.g., IBM SPSS, SAS Enterprise Miner, RPL, Python, Matlab) 

Data Visualization Tools: (e.g. SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau, Power Bi) 

ERP:

Experience in large enterprise applications (SAP, Oracle, etc.)

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is 93,000-173,300. 

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
