The person in this senior faculty position will conduct funded research applying methods of data science and informatics, with specific foci on clinical and translational informatics, analytics, natural language processing, and research infrastructure development. They will develop and offer a course(s) in the department's graduate programs on these and related topics; and will mentor/supervise graduate students and chair doctoral dissertation committees. Service activities will include mentoring of junior faculty members, chairing departmental committees, consultation with faculty colleagues on data issues within their studies, participating in a variety of informatics initiatives in support of research at Michigan Medicine, and representing the department in national and international scholarly organizations.
