Job Description:

   

Key duties and responsibilities include:

This is a technical role in the PS Theater team, reporting directly to the PS Theater Leader. Specific Responsibilities include:

• Work with Account teams to enable customer consumption of standard PS offers

• Collaborate with Customers, Sales/SEs, SBMs, and PS BDMs to understand the unique customer use cases and desired outcomes to enable proper positioning of standard PS offers

• Provide integration of multiple PS offers into solutions for customers

• Collaborate with the customer on alignment / inclusion of Juniper solutions into Customer’s Enterprise Architecture

• In collaboration with PS BDMs and PMO, properly scope prospective customer engagements, including development of Level of Effort (LOE) estimates, resource requirements, and proposed project timelines.

• Participate in development of PS Practice offer roadmaps to ensure alignment with customer and market.

• Work with Services Marketing, PS Practice Architects, and Channel Partner management to drive and support the development and launch of new service offerings.

• Engage with Services Marketing and Global Practice Leaders to drive development of appropriate collateral, customer references and success stories that promote the value of Juniper Networks and Professional Services.

• Engage with the technical community through industry events, web forums, and publications to share knowledge and evangelize Juniper’s PS services and capabilities.

Role Requirements

The Juniper Professional Services Solution Architect should possess the following skills and competencies:

Knowledge

• Has experience of large scale solutions projects delivery to Service Provider and/or Enterprise customers.

• Has Professional Services consulting and business consulting experience, including conflict management and hands on delivery experience of technical projects.

• Demonstrates an excellent understanding of the industry, the customer's business issues, and the most appropriate solution architecture to meet their business goals.

• Has strong technical background and competences on relevant technologies.

• Uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.

• Strong Architectural background including plan, design, and implement phases and best practices

• Able to bridge the business imperatives and supporting technical solutions that enable the business

What you’ll do:

Job Complexity

• Advocates the use of Professional Services and helps define the Professional Services proposition

• Leads development of complex and/or large scale solutions, identifying and leveraging SMEs and the broader team to complete deliverables as necessary.

• Ensures best practice methods are used for scoping and delivery of new technology and solutions.

• Closely monitors progress and quality as well as risks and delays.

• Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.

• Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results that are the most conducive to the customer environment and assignment.

• Creates informal networks involving coordination among groups and individuals.

• Provides state-of-the-art innovative and multifunctional techniques for solution implementation propositions.

• Mentor junior consultants on customer projects to assist with achieving training and development

goals.

Supervision

• Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.

• Possibly supervises the activities of other consultants assigned to deliver the solution.

What you need to bring:

Experience

• Typically requires 12-15 years of related experience

• Bachelors or MS degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering

• Strong influencing skills and the ability to present at industry events, not "limited" to Juniper technology; ability to compare our solutions with other industry options.

• Business related qualifications and product certifications on specific solutions that make up the consultants solutions areas.

• Expert-level (JNCIE, CCIE) networking certifications are desired as appropriate
