This position assists in the design and delivery of complex training for new and current employees and provides employees with opportunities to improve their technical skills and expand their professional knowledge. WLRC currently serves Wyoming residents in an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) and a newly constructed Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). We have also adopted the Green House model of care. Located in the foothills of the Wind River mountains, Lander is an outdoor lover's paradise! Various outdoor activities can be enjoyed, such as fishing, hunting, camping, ATV riding, rock climbing, hiking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. Human Resource Contact: Tammy / 307-335-6794 /tammalee.keysaw1@wyo.gov ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level. + Deliver training classes to employees through a variety of media solutions. + Manage, teach, and interact with employees in a classroom setting. + Must have the ability to model and perform physical instruction. + Review the results of employee training. Identify programs and tools to reinforce and measure learning effectiveness. + Create and implement learning objectives and develop testing processes in both practical and written form. + Participate in the planning and development of curriculum and the preparation of student materials and instructional materials. Explore the use of technology and other delivery methods for training purposes. + Review and evaluate various commercial training resources to determine their suitability for use in training programs. + Prepare and explain course lessons, plans, and updates. Revise existing lesson plans as needed. + Work alongside trainees and existing employees in their work areas to monitor training effectiveness and determine follow-up training needs. + Work one shift a month in our residential units to maintain relationships with employees on campus. + Other duties, as assigned. Qualifications PREFERENCES: Preference may be given to applicants with at least two years of teaching/ instructional experience with a degree. A health care professional with a background in behavioral health is a plus. KNOWLEDGE: + Knowledge of distance learning, multi-media instructional methods, and curriculum development. + Knowledge of appropriate methods and materials to accomplish training objectives. + Ability to operate computers and use common software applications. + Knowledge of basic instructional and training procedures and practices. + Skills in classroom management, instruction, motivation, and accommodation of learning styles. + Skills in training needs, assessments, and instructional design. + Skills in written and verbal communication and the ability to communicate in a positive and effective manner to staff residents, and the public. + Ability to work with and around WLRC residents, including those who may display challenging behaviors. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Substitution: 3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Instructor I OR Education: Bachelor's Degree (typically in Education) Experience: 1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Instructor I Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None, but any would be a plus. Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: + Must be able to safely move (twisting, bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling), position, and lift people with multiple and severe disabilities. + Ability to intervene during client behavioral episodes and assist with de-escalation. + Ability to perform CPR, First Aid, PCM, and Crisis Management. NOTES: + FLSA: Non-exempt + The Wyoming Life Resource Center participates in E-Verify. We will provide the Social Security Administration, and if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security, with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.
