We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator for the 1st shift, working from 7am to 3pm, Monday through Friday. The role involves coordinating all activities required to process work orders effectively, preparing materials for safe and secure shipment, optimizing load configurations, and meeting or exceeding shipping requirements.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate all activities required to process work orders effectively.Prepare materials for safe and secure shipment to customer locations.Optimize load configurations to ensure shipping efficiency.Read, interpret, and process orders using work orders, packing lists, bills of lading, and export papers.Attach labels or identifying tags to ensure shipment accuracy.Measure and mark dimensions on shipping materials for box, crate, or skid construction.Protect products against weather and damage during transit.Accurately inventory and document products for shipment.Plan activities to complete jobs efficiently and ensure on-time shipment.Load and unload trucks in a timely manner.Use the decimal conversion chart as needed.Work with close tolerances using standard measuring devices.Select, set up, and adjust equipment necessary for efficient job completion.Verify conformance of finished products to work order requirements.Coordinate acceptance and signoff of finished work with the quality control department.Follow oral and written instructions.Safely operate fork trucks or other material handling equipment.Complete forklift training and pass the certification test.Maintain housekeeping standards in compliance with company policies.Meet or exceed company standards for productivity and efficiency.Work with team leaders or supervision to accomplish tasks accurately.Convey necessary information to team members of other shifts for smooth transitions.Essential Skills1-2 years of experience in shipping or a related field.Ability to read a tape measure.Experience operating a sit-down forklift.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in using measuring devices such as tapes, micrometers, and calipers.Experience in general labor and production environments.Ability to load and unload materials efficiently.Data entry skills.Why Work Here?Join a family-owned company that truly cares about its employees, offering great benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, safety bonuses, and opportunities for team bonding through events like yearly employee picnics and golf outings.
Work EnvironmentThis role is based on the 1st shift with hours from 7am to 3pm, Monday to Friday. The facility is not climate-controlled and may have a mild odor from the steel and presses. The dress code requires steel-toed shoes, jeans, and a t-shirt or long sleeves depending on the weather.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
