What You’ll DoIn this role, you’ll support the full galvanizing process from start to finish. Daily responsibilities include:
Operating and overseeing galvanizing line systems such as payoff equipment, cleaning units, zinc baths, cooling sections, and wire take-up machinery.Loading raw wire into the line and maintaining a steady, efficient flow throughout production.Checking wire for correct coating thickness, uniform diameter, surface quality, and proper zinc bonding.Making routine adjustments to speed, tension, temperatures, and coating settings to maintain product requirements.Safely handling zinc ingots, flux compounds, and other production materials.Performing basic maintenance tasks including equipment cleaning, jam clearing, swapping out worn parts, and reporting mechanical concerns.Following all safety rules—PPE, lockout/tagout, hot-metal handling, and situational awareness are essential.What Makes You a Great FitEssential SkillsExperience in general labor or manufacturing environmentsBasic machine operation and mechanical aptitudeStrong safety habits and awarenessConsistent and dependable attendanceAbility to work at heightsComfortable working in high-heat areasTeam-first attitudePreferred QualificationsAt least 2–3 years of steady work history with your previous employerA reference from a past manager specifically confirming attendanceAbility to work near molten zinc and in elevated temperaturesWillingness to train, ask questions, and support coworkersWhy You’ll Love Working HereJoin a company with nearly a century of industry expertiseUnion environment with great employee supportOpportunities for direct hire and long-term developmentStrong, collaborative team cultureWork EnvironmentYou’ll work in a large-scale wire manufacturing facility centered around hot-dip galvanizing. Temperatures can be high due to molten zinc kettles, and some areas may appear hazy from continuous machine operation.
