**Job Title: New Hire Utility**
**Job Description**
The New Hire Utility position is responsible for learning to operate equipment related to extrusion or tube mill processes and handling aluminum products. The role requires adherence to safe job practices, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate, support, and move materials using lifting techniques and hoists.
+ Learn and participate in 'press team' operations within the aluminum extrusion department.
+ Ensure all quality objectives are met and assist operators with extrusion or casting equipment.
+ Report and review any unusual conditions to lead operator or supervisors.
+ Work collaboratively with team members and management to achieve daily production goals.
+ Adapt to working in a Union environment, with flexibility regarding shift movements and roles.
**Essential Skills**
+ 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing processes, machine operation, or production support.
+ Familiarity with general labor, assembly line, and production line operations.
+ Experience with machine safety, quality control, and inspection processes.
+ Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other machinery.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn various roles within the department.
+ Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and up to 12-hour shifts, including weekends.
+ Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting weights over 15 lbs and up to 100 lbs with assistance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chesterfield, VA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.31 - $20.31/hr.
