Production Technician
Job Title: Production TechnicianJob Description

Join our dynamic team as a Production Technician where you will play a crucial role in assembling air leak detection equipment. This equipment integrates both electrical and mechanical components, including instrumentation tubing and various electrical parts. You will utilize blueprints to install components, ensuring each unit meets quality standards. These tabletop units are essential for manufacturing companies, providing in-process quality checks for leaks in air pressure for items like medical equipment and engines.

ResponsibilitiesBuild, calibrate, test, and audit leak test products according to specifications and procedures within budgeted hours.Verify product conformance to specifications and protocols, and document audit outcomes.Perform basic troubleshooting on the production floor and provide feedback for product and process improvement.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of job hours, parts used, and production data.Ensure consistent use of appropriate calibrated instruments and tools.Adhere to ISO-9001 and other applicable quality policies and procedures.Comply with Environment Health and Safety regulations and quality policies.Maintain a clean and organized production area.Continuously learn and receive training on new products and technology.Work collaboratively with team members, leaders, and co-workers.Be prepared to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills3-5 years of mechanical experience.Experience reading blueprints and diagrams.Proficiency with pneumatic equipment.Ability to use computers to hook up and calibrate equipment.High school diploma or GED; technical or associate degree preferred.Basic knowledge of hand tools.Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.Knowledge of assembly, electronic, and pneumatic parts.Ability to read and understand drawings or schematics.Working knowledge of ISO policies and work instructions.Strong interpersonal skills, including solid oral and written communication.Motivated to learn new tasks.Proficiency in Microsoft applications.Ability to identify and escalate problems.Detail-oriented with a drive to follow up on outstanding tasks.High level of reliability and accountability.
Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with instrumentation is a plus.Swagelok certificate on fittings and tubing is desired but not required.

Work Environment

Work in an air-conditioned electronics shop alongside a dedicated team of about 10 colleagues. The standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7 am to 4 pm, with flexibility on start times between 6 am and 8 am. This role offers the chance to engage in a collaborative and innovative setting, where quality and efficiency are paramount.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
