Production Technician
**Job Title: Chemical Plant Technician** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated Chemical Plant Technician to ensure the efficient operation of our specialty chemicals plant. You will work with powdered chemicals in the polymer-making process, used in plastics and waste water treatment plants. This role requires working at elevated heights across four levels of the facility and involves operating plant machinery and equipment safely and efficiently. **Responsibilities** + Operate plant machinery and equipment, including opening and closing valves and monitoring instrumentation panels. + Dump 10-kilo bags and larger into containers and monitor plant data using basic math skills. + Perform repetitive tasks and remain in a stationary position for extended periods. + Climb ladders and operate forklifts, performing manual duties including lifting up to 50 lbs. + Stay current on operating procedures, emergency procedures, safety, and policies. + Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, and follow both verbal and written instructions. + Perform maintenance on equipment as needed, using forklifts, industrial scales, power tools, and hand tools. + Troubleshoot minor maintenance defects, with some electrical experience preferred for instrumentation. **Essential Skills** + Experience in machine operation, mechanical functions, and process manufacturing. + Ability to handle chemical processing, mixing, batching, and calibration. + Experience with blending, chemical handling, and general production tasks. + Capability to perform heavy lifting, inspection, sealing, and general labor tasks. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Previous chemical experience is not required; we welcome trainable candidates. + Manufacturing experience is essential, ideally in process manufacturing. + Candidates should have a perfect safety record and no attendance issues. + Experience in a heavy industrial role is preferred. **Why Work Here?** Our company values a family-like atmosphere while providing opportunities for continued learning through a dedicated computer lab. Employees will work across four levels, exposed to elements between buildings. The role involves exposure to dust, noise, fluctuating temperatures, and both hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals. We currently run 8-hour shifts rotating every 2 weeks between the first and second shifts. A future shift schedule will include a 12-hour Lego Shift, rotating between days and nights every 2 weeks. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chesterfield, Virginia. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
