Job Title: Production Supervisor GeneralJob Description

As a Production Supervisor General, you will be pivotal in ensuring safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met by coaching and leading your team. You will monitor processes, support continuous improvement, and handle the administration of supervisory responsibilities. Your role will involve managing material handling functions, supporting lean manufacturing practices, and leading unionized personnel while ensuring the seamless introduction of new parts to production.

ResponsibilitiesCoach safety, quality, and productivity to meet objectives through standardized work.Monitor Andon occurrences and respond as secondary support.Verify smooth and safe production line operations through process confirmation.Support continuous improvement and coach problem resolution.Provide team communication and recognition.Build capability in Team Leaders and Team Members.Create a conducive work environment for teams to complete tasks.Handle the basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents.Manage daily material handling functions for the facility and department.Ensure proper material flow from receiving dock to production line and delivery.Provide direction and support in resource allocation for material handling.Support the Production System and synchronous material flow through lean practices.Lead and manage unionized hourly personnel.Ensure flawless introduction of new parts to production with proactive planning.Implement the Engineering Change Process effectively.Identify and correct data gaps in CMMS.Essential SkillsSafety experience.Six Sigma: Black or Green Belt certified.Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.Prior experience managing a unionized workforce.Ability to multitask and work independently.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to maintain professionalism in stressful situations.Two-way communicator who listens to team members, leaders, and customers.Commitment to continuous improvement with innovative solutions and customer-first mindset.Create a culture of safety and implement workplace policies.Administer the collective bargaining agreement consistently and effectively.Value different opinions and be open to ideas and perspectives from others.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This is a fast-paced UAW assembly plant running three shifts (A, B, and C crew). Candidates must be flexible with shifts and willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.

This is a Contract position based out of Wayne, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.38 - $33.08/hr.
